Polar bear - Schleich 14800

The Schleich® polar bear is hand-painted and very detailed. You can feel every single hair and the big paws. That's what Schleich® can do and that makes playing with animals so much more fun. Taken directly from the ice in Antarctica, here you get the large polar bear from Schleich®. It's not visible to the naked eye, but the polar bear's fur consists of transparent hollow hairs. The sunlight heats the cavities of each individual hair and its black skin retains the heat inside. This is how the polar bear can cope with the temperatures down to minus 50 degrees Celsius in Antarctica. The polar bear is a large animal - more precisely, the largest land predator on earth. The largest polar bear found so far weighed 1002 kg. Normally, a male polar bear weighs up to 800 kg. The polar bear primarily feeds on seals, which it catches out on the sea ice. It waits at the seals' breathing holes in the ice, and grabs the seal when it needs to come up for air. The polar bear measures 12.2 x 5.7 x 7.2cm. Ages 3 and up.
